Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • discipline and an open mind.
  1. Step 1

In this article, you're going to learn how to pick a workout program that you can get excited about so that you'll always be motivated to stick with it. If you're trying to do a workout program that you're not really excited about, or don't enjoy, then it will be tough to stick with it.

You're also going to learn how to plan your workout ahead of time because it needs to become apart of your regular day so that you can place enough importance on it, to keep it up.

  2. Step 2

The first thing you should do, is find a workout that you enjoy doing. For me personally, it's playing tennis. I never get board at playing tennis, and it keeps my mind interested in the activity, so it never gets boring. What you should do, is find a similar activity for yourself. Something that will keep you focused on what you're doing, and that you find fun to do. That's the first step in keeping up an exercise routine.

  3. Step 3

The next ingredient to sticking with your workout, is to set a precise schedule for it. What this does, is forces you to place a certain amount of importance on it in your mind, so that you'll be more likely to stick with it. Also if you're having a bad day, and don't feel like doing the workout. Just get up and do it without thinking about it, and I guarantee you, within about five minutes into the workout your mind will become more focused on it, and you'll continue doing the workout. Also you'll feel a lot better afterwards because you've channeled out that negative energy through your workout.

  4. Step 4

Third, set certain goals for yourself during the workout. For me personally, I set a goal for practicing my tennis ground strokes for 30 minutes instead of 20 minutes, or something like that.

Whatever it is in the routine you've picked, try and set a goal for yourself to do better in it. This will set a sort of tone of excitement in your mind to do your next workout so that you can see if you can meet your goal you've set.

  5. Step 5

Last, you might also want to promise yourself a certain reward for completing your workout. This will give you more motivation and excitement in your mind to complete the workout.

You can maybe promise yourself an extra snack or something like that for burning more calories during your workout. Rewarding yourself for hard work is always effective. Everyone likes rewards.
