How to Make a Vase From a Plastic Bottle
You won't have to pull out your plastic to buy this new vase. Just take that empty water bottle you're holding and start creating. You can actually look around the house and grab any plastic bottle-and voila-a decorative and inexpensive (free really) vase. Here are ways to do it. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Plastic bottle
- Glue
- Newspaper
- Water
- Acrylic paint
- Clear water-based polyurethane

Look around your home or office for plastic bottles that you can reuse. Try to find a variety that range in shape and size, and try to look for unique shapes and forms too. Make sure to thoroughly clean out the bottles.

Cut newspaper into long, narrow strips.

Mix 2 parts glue with 1 part water.

Dip the paper strips into the mixture, and then begin applying around the bottles.

Repeat the process again and push the top pieces down into the bottle; this time allow it to dry.

Paint a couple of layers of acrylic paint onto your masterpiece, seal with polyurethane, then stand back and admire. The plastic part will be our little secret.
