We all love carbs, but protein is often a big challenge for an individual. This article outlines five creative ways to add protein into a diet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Almonds or Peanuts
  • Peanut Butter
  • Whey Protein
  • Sugar Free Pudding/Milk
  • Bran
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Blueberries
  1. Step 1

Take some almonds or peanuts and mix them into a toss salad. Use lite dressing. If you desire, add some fish (shrimp, flouder, tuna) or poultry (chicken, turkey) into the salad to bulk the protein up even more. Every 1 oz of these proteins offers between 8-12 grams of protein.

  2. Step 2

Take a tablespoon full of peanut butter, and like regular butter spread it in a celery stick. Get your crunch and veggies all in one. If you have chunky peanut butter, you are actually adding more protein. Average protein intake is 6-8 gms per tablespoon.

  3. Step 3

Take sour cream (4gm per serving) or 1/2 cup of cottage cheese (15 gm per serving) and mix it with Complete Bran by Kellogg and spring a handful of blueberries in it. It provides you a dose of fiber and about 1/3 of your protein intake needs for the day. Also very rick in vitamins.

  4. Step 4

Take sugar free instant jello (1 pkt) and mix in 4 scoops of pure whey protein (avg. carb intake is 3g/protein is 20gm). Mix the pudding and whey together before putting the milk in to stir for 2 minutes. Refrigerate for 2-3 hrs. Your average protein intake is 35gms! The protein is hidden. Best choice is use chocolate whey with chocolate pudding. It hides the taste.

  5. Step 5

Make milk shakes. With your blender, take a scoop of whey protein (vanilla or chocolate) and mix it with a cup of milk. Put ice cubes in it. Upon thickening, you will have a great milk shake.
