Most of us desire to live lives that are full and content. We want to experience the fullness of our journey here on earth. We acknowledge that our Father, God is our source and guide. He purposefully created us and designed us with a specific plan which was to have a personal relationship with Him.
So how can we accomplish this plan? What are some practical steps we should take to recognize God and realize his plans for us? We must first get to know Him as we would get to know a new friend or business partner.
We first find out about the person's background, study their essential profile.
To study God's profile you will need to go to the one Book that provides His complete biography, the Bible.

      Get to Know God

      When seeking to know someone you search out their background. It's best to go to a source that has the most current and reputable recognized resource. The Bible has been by far the most acclaimed records of God. Seek scripture verses that exclaim who He is.

      Pray often, as often as it comes to mind. Priscilla Shirer calls them "breath prayers" . These are merely whispers of prayers spoke to God as you go through your day doing your daily routine.

      Morning Walks with God

      Take early morning walks or start a daily exercise routine that allows you time before the rest of your world awakens and barges in. During this time, you are able to pray to God and practice listening to His voice.

      During this time or at any point of your day, specifically when you are outside in nature, take moments to since the work of God in nature and your surroundings. Whisper words of thanksgiving and acknowledgement of His divine creation.

      When you feel anxious or distressed or begin to worry, "take that as a cue to offer the situation to God in prayer". Also realize this is a test of your committment to your faith. Do you really trust God?

  • Purchase pre-written scripture cards if you're not sure how to prepare your own (available at most Christian Bookstores)

  • As with any relationship, the more time spent together the deeper the relationship

  • Don't expect this to be instantaneous, set realistic goals

  • If you miss times, you can always start again or change your routine (it's yours)

  • Don't give up - "do-overs" are permitted
