Things You'll Need:
- 6oz of spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons butter/margarine
- 2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 well-beaten eggs
- 1 cup of cottage or ricotta cheese
- 1 medium jar of spaghetti sauce
- 1 green pepper
- 1 onion
- 1 small jar mushrooms
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- Pie pan (glass, aluminum, metal)
-
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
Step 2
Cut up onion and green pepper. Saute veggies in large frying pan with some olive oil or cooking spray. When veggies are semi-soft, add ground beef and cook until meat is brown. Drain; put meat and veggie mixture back in pan and add jar of sauce. Set aside.
-
Step 3
While meat is cooking, cook spaghetti according to directions. Cook to where pasta is not quite done (still tacky, not soft); drain.
-
Step 4
Put butter into a bowl. Add pasta. Stir until the butter melts and then add the well-beaten eggs and parmasean cheese. Stir until pasta is well coated.
-
Step 5
Spray pie pan with cooking spray. Place spaghetti mixture into the pie pan, using a fork to spread it around and up the sides of the pan.
-
Step 6
Place cottage cheese (or ricotta) in the middle and spread it evenly, but not quite to the edges. Spoon meat and veggie mixture on top of the cottage cheese (or ricotta).
-
Step 7
Place pan in a 350 degree oven and bake for 20 minutes (placing pie pan onto a baking sheet will prevent spills and drips).
-
Step 8
Take pie out of oven and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese. Place back into oven for 5 minutes.
-
Step 9
Remove from oven and allow pie to stand for several minutes. Once it is settled, cut it into pie slices and serve. Serve with salad and bread for a yummy and filling meal. Leftovers are good too!
