Shoes like so many things cost quite a lot these days. There are ways to make sure your look better and last longer.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • clean tissue paper
  • clean cloths
  • sufficient closet space
  • an under the bed shoe case
  • a leather car upholstery cleaner
  1. Step 1

One of the fastest ways to destroy your shoes is to cram them into a small closet on top of each other. To keep them looking new and wearing well longer make sure you have plenty of closet space for your shoes or purchase an under the bed shoe case. You can find this in most department or chain stores.

  2. Step 2

Another thing you can do is to put clean tissue paper inside your shoes and boots to help them keep their shape. You can use this over and over to cut down on cost. You can purchase packages of tissue paper at most dollar stores. Use only white since the dyes in brightly colored tissue can bleed the dye onto your shoes.

  3. Step 3

Always wear clean socks and make sure your feet are clean before putting on your shoe. Most adults may not have a problem with this but many children will. Wipe out the inside of your shoes after you have worn them with a clean cloth. Wipe the outside off and clean off anything that has gotten on your shoes during the day. A good way to clean leather shoes is to use a product used to clean leather car upholstery. This really works well.

on 10/18/2009 Nice article Jenny. I didn't know about the tissue or the leather cleaner for cars. Thanks for the tips.
