How to Make an inexpenisve snow globe

Snow globes are fun and easy to create. They can be a project that can keeps children busy and allow them to experience creating something from an old babyfood jar, glitter, water and small items.
Snow globes are a perfect craft for holidays or upcoming events.
Imagine a graveyard with bats flying aroun or a bride and groom with glitter doves and her veil floating. How about a snowman with opal glitter snow blowing around? The globe is limited only by the childs or persons imagination.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    To the cap glue small items that can be in one position. Like, small dinosaurs, tiny grave yeards, small house, bride and grrom, party favors etc. Using waterproof glue in place on inside of cap away from edge and let dry overnight.

  2. Step 2

    Take the baby food jar and scrub well and let dry. You want it as shiny and clean as possible.

  3. Step 3

    Add to the jar 1-2 teaspoons of glitter(s) of your choice.

  4. Step 4

    Fill with distilled water to neck opening.
    If you have an ocean theme you may want to add a drop or two of blue and green food colorings. Otherwise leve it clear.

  5. Step 5

    Apply glue around neck of the jar
    Screw cap back on so that glue makes a good seal.
    Let this dry according to glue package directions to make a good leakproof seal.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a perfect way to use small beads and make themed gifts. A way to preserve items from a beach as well.
  • Make sure your glue says WATERPROOF when dry
  • Not suitable for creation with kids under 5 or for anyone who puts items in their mouths.
