Step 1
Use color to achieve garden style. Earthy greens and browns, classic white and soft pastels are all good choices.
-
Step 2
You can use flowers liberally when striving for the garden look. Upholstery fabrics, throws, pillows and wallpaper can all be decorated with flowers, and beautiful dried and fresh flowers can be displayed in pots and vases all over the home.
-
Step 3
Use wood with distressed finishes, such as an old, weathered window frame used to frame a picture, a weathered table or an old rose trellis leaning against a wall. Painted furniture with paint rubbed off at the edges. Look for painted items at yard sales, then take a little paint off the edges with sandpaper.

Step 4
Wicker! Love it, use it liberally. Chairs, tables, wastebaskets and planters are all great options.
-
Step 5
Old metal table and chair sets, garden benches or yard chairs look great in the garden style. A little rust is a plus.
-
Step 6
Old watering cans can make fantastic planters, or can be a pretty accent on a table or mantel.

Step 7
If you like antique and vintage collectibles, such as china soup tureens or porcelain tea cups, look for items with vines or flowers in the design and display them in your garden style home.
