Step 1
Register your Kindle to make purchases. Press "Home," then "Menu," then "Settings," then "Register." Enter your email address and other required content, then click "Submit." This will successfully activate your Kindle and connect it to your Amazon account.

Press "Menu," then "Shop in Kindle Store." Once in the Kindle store, you can search for books by category or popularity. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard on the Kindle to search for a book by title, author or keyword.

Click on a book's title to read more information about it. Select "Buy" to purchase the book. The book will be automatically downloaded to your Kindle within minutes. When the book has been downloaded in its entirety, an "Items Downloaded" message will appear on your Kindle screen.

Repeat this process for any other books you would like to download to your Kindle.

Go to Amazon.com and log in to your account using the same information that you registered on your Kindle.

Click on "Kindle," then "Kindle Store" on the left-hand corner of your screen.

Browse Kindle books by category, or enter search terms to look for a specific title or author.

Select a book by clicking on its title. To download the book, click "Buy Now" in the upper right-hand corner. Be sure that the line underneath this option is set to "Send Instantly to Kindle." The book will be downloaded to your Kindle within a matter of minutes, and when complete, "Items Downloaded" will appear on your Kindle screen.

Repeat this process for any other books you would like to download to your Kindle.
