Turn off your laptop or unplug it from its power source.

Remove the laptop's battery.

Locate the RAM chip slots and unscrew them.

Remove the old RAM chip from the slot and replace it with your new chip. Be careful in handling the RAM chip so as not to damage it.

Screw the RAM slot in place and replace the laptop battery, making sure everything is securely in place.

Turn on the laptop and make sure it recognizes the RAM upgrade.

Tips & Warnings
Not all laptops have RAM slots with screws. If you are only adding RAM, do not remove the old chip. Just place the new RAM chip into an available slot.
Never upgrade your laptop's RAM if the laptop is on or plugged in.
