How to Make a Craft Out of Clay Pots

Clay pots are for more then planting flowers. You can use clay pots for many types of crafts. They are fairly inexpensive and can be found at most craft stores. Clay pots come in different sizes and are perfect for exhibiting your creative, personal touch. You can make many fun crafts with a clay pot.

Things You'll Need

• Terra cotta pot
• Brown acrylic paint
• Brown medium pom-pom
• Red small pom-pom
• Two google eyes
• Thin red ribbon
• Cardboard
• Brown felt
• Craft glue

Instructions

1. Paint the outside of the pot brown. Let the paint dry completely.

2. Turn the pot upside down. Glue the google eyes onto the front of the pot.

3. Create a reindeer nose out of the pom-poms. Glue the brown pom-pom under the eyes. After you glue the brown pom-pom onto the pot, glue the red pom-pom on top of the brown pom-pom.

4. Draw two big antlers on a piece of card board. An easy way to make antlers is to trace your hand twice. Each hand will be one antler. Cut them out and cover the cardboard with brown felt. Glue the antlers to the top of the pot.

5. Tie the red ribbon into a bow. Glue the bow onto the top, center of the pot (right under the antlers).

Tips & Warnings

• Instead of turning the pot upside down, keep it right side up. Follow the same directions and you can use the pot to hold candy or as a gift basket. Add small bells to the bow. You can decorate the pot with holly leaves. Use small pots, write your guests' names on the backs, and use as place settings at a holiday dinner.
