1
Dress in clothing that leaves as little skin exposed as possible. Long sleeves and gloves are highly recommended.
-
2
Ensure that all windows and doors are closed so that any insects that leave the nest do not flee into your house.
-
-
3
Spray the nest with hornet and wasp spray to kill as many of the insects as possible.
-
4
Position a metal trash bin beneath the nest, being sure not to agitate any remaining insects.

Construct a fire beneath the nest so that the smoke rises into the nest. This will cause many of the insects to leave the nest, reducing chance of stings in later steps.
-
6
Use a long stick or gardening implement to knock the nest down and into the garbage can, and quickly close the lid tightly.
-
7
Place the bin over the fire to roast the nest and kill any remaining insects inside it.
