How to Change Your Twitter Profile Background

Twitter is a microblogging website where you can let everyone know what's happening in your life or in the world. You can only post 140 characters each time you Tweet, but you can also communicate with others using hash tags and searches. Personalizing your Twitter background lets others get to know you a little better by seeing your style. You can make Twitter a little more personal in less than five minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit the Twitter website and sign in with your username and password. If you do not have a Twitter account yet, click "Sign Up Now" and enter all of the required information, verify your e-mail if asked, then log in.

    • 2

Click on "Settings" at the top of your home page on Twitter. This is where you update your account information, profile information, password, userpic and your design.

    • 3

Click on the "Design" tab at the top of the page. You can select a pre-made theme by scrolling down and clicking on the one that you like the most. If you do not like any of the premade themes, move on to step four.

    • 4

Click on "Change Background Image" at the bottom of the screen. Locate an image on your computer that you would like to use for your Twitter profile background. Check the "Tile Background" box if you'd like to have your background repeat itself on the page. Click "Save Changes." The background of your Twitter profile will now reflect your changes.
