Things You'll Need:
- Candles
- Mood music
- Soft fabric
- Wine

Step 1
Well the first thing you will want to do is make certain that the environment around you is clean. You cannot hope to strike romance if someone is staring at dirty socks lying on the floor or see a mountain of dirty dishes piled high in the kitchen. So take the time and clean every room that you will be seeing while you are trying to set the stage.
-
Step 2
Invest in some scented candles and beautiful candle holders. Nothing is more romantic then the soft glow of candle light. The flickering flames, the light dancing across your beloved's face. But candles ply two roles in this set up. The second role they play is the role of scent. Scents have been known to trigger chemical moods in people. So use the right scent to enhance feelings of the mood. Great scents for this is vanilla and musk, to name only a few. But different companies have treasure trove's of smells with unique names.
-
Step 3
Set the mood with music. I'm not talking about cheesy Barry White, sex ballads. But nice gentle rhythms played softly in the background. This gentle rhythms help create a non distracting white noise. Perfect for blocking out sounds from the neighbors or the street.
-
Step 4
Setting the mood is about pleasing the senses. And so far we have covered sight, sound and smell. But how about the sense of touch. This is where soft fabrics come into place. By using mixtures of soft textures it appeals to our sense of touch. Do this by investing in a soft furry throw blanket and have it draped on your sofa. And use fine soft satin throw pillows to accent and please the senses.
-
Step 5
Finally the sense of taste. A fine wine helps to set the mood. But if your guest does not enjoy wine. Provide them with something else that dances on the taste buds. The key is to create an experience so if you cannot impress with a beverage, tempt them with something simple and decadent like a piece of gourmet chocolate.

Step 6
A night of romance is yours to behold, may love blossom and grow.

on 10/19/2009 I suppose the fact that my 1 year old's crib is still in our bedroom kinda kills this! ;-)
