If you are planning to hire a babysitter or nanny either for one night or for a regular sheduled time you definitely need a trustworthy person. Where to find one? here there are some good sources

  1. Step 1

    Ask your family and friends about sitters. Some of them could have sitters already working that has friends whose are looking to work.

    Contact mom's groups in your neighborhood. If there is not such a thing, post flyers at gathering areas. Some people run daycares of their homes and can contact you. The good thing of having as a babysitter someone from the neighboorhood is that she can easy identify a stranger.

    You can ask at high schools for a list of students that are currently babysitting or are intersting on it. In case of the Colleges, put your flyers at the bulleting board.
