Step 1
For close family members that are hard to buy for, focus on their hobbies or favorites. A great place to find incredible unique gifts is Zazzle.com. You can type in a key word, like "golf" and find creative and unique t-shirts, calendars, and other wonderful gift ideas. Or if you don't see somthing you like, you can use your own photos and design something personal.

Step 2
Even secret santas at work can get expensive, so how about a oookie exchange? Everyone brings a few dozen of their favorites, and at lunch everyone can munch on Christmas cheer and share memories where they first had their favorites. Don't feel like baking? Just have everyone bring snacks of some sort, even if they are store bought. This is a great idea for a Bible study or neighborhood as well.

Step 3
If you are buying a present for a young child, consider finding a craft kit or a model that you can put together with them, or perhaps a game from your childhood that you can play with them. Time is the best gift!

Step 4
Amaryllis or another bulb plant is a thoughtful gift for greenthumbs, since they normally come back year after year to remind them of you.

Step 5
Of course handmade gifts are always nice. Get your children to work on ornaments, pot holders, or other presents for relatives. They will like them better anyway.
