Is your husband a deer hunter like mine? If so, you know that after getting your deer processed you have a lot of vension packed in the deep freezer! This is a recipe for a great, easy and inexpensive way to use up some of that venison meat. This recipe can be made in a huge quanitity and frozen for later use as well~

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • venison meat, chopped into small bite-size pieces, however much you want to add to your stew, the more the better!
  • a bag of frozen mixed vegetables
  • one large can of tomato juice
  • one to two large cans of stewed r diced tomatoes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Step 1

in a large pot boil vension chunks in water until browned and cooked then drain most of our water leaving just a bit in with the meat, unless you like your stew soupy!

  2. Step 2

Add in the can of tomato juice, stewed/diced tomatoes, and salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Step 3

Smash your bag of frozen vegetables on the counter a few times so that all the vegetables inside are broken apart which will cook better and faster. Add vegetables to the pot and mix well with the rest of the ingredients.

  4. Step 4

Bring to a boil and then simmer on low heat until hot and vegetables are tender. Serve hot or freeze in heavy duty plastic baggies or freezer bowls for later use!

Tips & Warnings
  • making a large quantity is good for use as a small meal while your husband is out hunting again and you are stuck home alone with the kids or, in my case, animals!
  • you can add beef or chicken broth instead of tomato juice, tomato juice is just the cheap way to go and tastes great!
