Things You'll Need:
- List of your current clothes for Fall.
- Paper
- Pencil or Pen

Step 1
Woman In Pencil Skirt and HeelsFirst, get a fitted suit in a dark color such as gray or brown. The blazer should be figure flattering, going in at the waist with atleast three panels on the back of it. The bottom portion of the suit should be a pencil skirt that fits perfectly - not too big and not too tight. You can wear the suit together for formal occasions or break it up for a more casual look. For example, wear a fuzzy sweater with the pencil skirt and heels or the blazer with a sexy top and jeans. Fitted suits are very 1940 and 1950 fashion.
-
Step 2
Get a hat such as a bucket hat or other square-shaped hat from the 40's or 50's to wear with your outfits. This will give a sophisticated flair to anything you put on.
-
Step 3
Buy some long gloves (up the arm) in either suede or leather in a dark color such as black or brown for day wear or a white pair to wear in the evening with a dress. This is a throw-back from decades gone buy and will add elegance to your look.
-
Step 4
Find some wedged heels to wear in a dark neutral color. Again, these were a staple of 1940's fashion. They were mostly worn with skirts and dresses from that era.

Step 5
Woman in Dark Colors for FallKeep any of your dark-colored clothing to layer. If you wear different hues of the same color in an outfit, such as a light brown sweater and a dark brown jacket with brown slacks, in different textures, it always produces an interesting effect. Dark colors were very popular in fall fashion of the 40's and 50's.
