Enlist your parents when you want to be a teen model. You need them when you stand out from the crowd and are different; when you have to let the people who hire you change your look totally just for a shot; or to pose, act or have expressions on command; and the many times you receive rejections. Your parents make this all easier for you!

First, continue to develop as a person, do things you enjoy, take etiquette classes. You have to have something to draw upon and you have to be nice.
A model is actually a blank that can showcase other's ideas, work or goods. A model is all about others, and ironically, not about you, a teen model, at all.

      That said:
      1. Begin now to make contacts to obtain modeling jobs, showcase a product, work as a teen model at charity events, at school or organization events, interact and get along with people. Be considerate and take it seriously!
      2. Ask your parents to have a business card made listing your name (as a model it need not be your given name!), their cell phone number and city or locale, if you are reliable, can hold a pose, available for print, etc. Have portfolio shots.
      3. Carry business cards, photos, resume and pen in a neat, classy attache and binder.
      4. Take time to look at websites and models at several legitimate agencies. Have face shots and full standing photos (ex: in neat fitted shirt and pant and sandals) Get several photographers to photograph you provide you ONE 8" X 10" photograph each for your portfolio. Have your parents take the shots being sure you have nice natural shots. NO TATTOOS! No rings in any piercings . Do different classice hair styles. Be yourself and show your joy.
(As an adult, later on, for traditional jobs, height should be 5'7", size no larger than a 7 dress size and age 20 to 24.)
Note the requirements for any job and reasonably fit yourself into it (ex:5'7"heels if that is how you become 5'7". If you are close state the measurements they desire since every girl's measurements naturally fluctuate an inch or so every month)
      5. Take an etiquette class just to update your skills. Look at art books for classic, natural poses, etc. AS a model, you can do your take on the classics, so you don't have to copy mags or print ads exactly. You are unique!
      Then:
      1. Then approach businesses or volunteer groups you know. Let them know you are a teen model. Check out the store websites
      2. Do a job or so gratis or for a discount at a girl's store at a mall or shopping center to get something on your resume.
      3. Be available to model seasonal clothing at boutiques, a floor model.
      4. Offer to do store window displays. When you design them, ask to be a living model at times in the display. Put that model experience on your resume.
