How to Eliminate Skunk Smell
Whether you, your child, or your dog accidentally crossed paths with a skunk, the results do not smell pretty. Mix the solution. Add one quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 1 tsp. of liquid dish detergent. Mix these ingredients thoroughly in a clean bowl. Purchase hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and liquid dish detergent at your local grocery store or drugstore.

Use the mixture immediately. Do not prepare this mixture and store it, as these ingredients could explode under pressure when they are combined.

Lay the sprayed subject in the bathtub. As soon as possible after the skunk has sprayed, lather the entire body and hair with the solution, but do not get it into the eyes.

Leave the solution on for five minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water from the bathtub or shower. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove the odor.

Tomato juice was once a home remedy for skunk smell -- unfortunately, this method will probably make you smell like a skunk got into a tomato patch.
