The Suzuki XL7 has an air conditioner filter element that helps maintain air quality inside your vehicle. This filter is usually known as a cabin air filter. A dirty cabin air filter can restrict the air conditioning system and reduce the interior air quality. Suzuki recommends inspecting the cabin air filter every 30,000 miles and replacing it if it's dirty.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Replacement air filter
  1. Step 1

Visit your local Suzuki dealer to purchase the correct replacement filter.

  2. Step 2

Pop your hood and insect your engine bay. Look on the passenger side of the engine bay near the firewall to find the air conditioner filter compartment.

  3. Step 3

Press the push pins on the compartment to remove the air conditioner cover. Set the cover aside.

  4. Step 4

Press the release tab above the filter, and then carefully slide it out. Insert the new filter, replace the cover and close the hood.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your Suzuki XL7 was made prior to 2007, the air conditioner filter is located in the glove box rather than in the engine bay. Open your glove box and remove its content. Remove the panel located at the rear of the glove box to access the filter.
