Homemade tacos is an enjoyable meal that is quick to prepare, rather simple to make and good to eat. The really fascinating thing about homemade tacos is that the ingredients consist of a foods from each of the five food categories. The ingredients needed for homemade tacos are ground beef, which can be substituted with ground turkey, chicken, or steak; cheese; lettuce; tomatoes; taco shells (hard or soft); a taco seasoning pack, and taco sauce or salsa. Optional foods to include in this dish are white onions or green onions, sour cream and black olives.

Put the ground beef into a medium-sized pan and cook between medium and medium high. Gradually add in the taco seasoning pack during the cooking process. Stir the meat continuously until it is completely brown. Once the meat is completely done, put the meat inside of a hard or soft taco shell.
Rinse the lettuce and then dice it up into really small pieces. Once this is completed, put a handful of lettuce into the taco shell over the meat.
Sprinkle the desired amount of shredded cheese into the taco shell, over the lettuce. There are a variety of cheese types to choose from. The most common type of cheese used in tacos is shredded cheddar cheese.
Dice the tomato into really small pieces. The amount desired is optional. Place a handful of tomatoes inside the taco shell, over the cheese.
Finally, put a spoon full of salsa or taco sauce over the cheese. If desired, sour cream, black olives and onions can be added to this dish.
