Instructions

  1. How to Make My Own Online Video With Music

    • 1

Open the Windows Movie Maker Program.

    • 2

Click on audio or music under "import" and drag the song you would like to play during your music video into a section in the storyboard. The audio can only be seen when you view the "timeline" so you will have to switch back and forth if you want to split the song into parts throughout the video.

    • 3

Select pictures, videos, or the video camera option under "import" and select the files you would like to add. If you are using pictures, it is easier to upload them all at the same time and then arrange them as you would like in the storyboard.

    • 4

Trim parts of the video by viewing the "timeline," selecting the video clip, and clicking while dragging the marker. You can view the frames of the video in the window to the right.

    • 5

Add effects to each frame by clicking on the effects button located under "edit" and dragging it into the frame.

    • 6

Add frame transitions such as "fade in" or "out" by clicking on "transitions" and dragging it into the space provided between each frame. You can preview the movie to see where you would like to make adjustments as you go.

    • 7

Edit the music to how you would like it to play once you have uploaded and edited all the visual parts of your movie. You can split the song to play in pieces or allow the song to play throughout the length of the movie.

    • 8

Upload your video to a site that will store your online video such as Photobucket, or allow others to view it right away on Youtube. Either site will supply you with a link that you can embed or add to emails, blogs, or your own website.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Help section of Movie Maker is very helpful in guiding you through any parts of the video-making you don't understand.
