Instructions

    • 1

Create a wooden spoon bouquet by taking four or five wooden spoons and decorating them to look like flowers. Paint the handle of the spoons green like the stem. Paint flower heads onto the head of the spoon, or use other materials such as pipe cleaners, construction paper or flat wooden pieces to create the petals. Stick flower foam into an old coffee mug or flower pot for support and stick the spoons into the foam to stand up like flowers.

    • 2

Create wooden spoon puppets by drawing faces on the head of the spoons. Glue yarn to the head to create hair. Use construction paper to create costumes for your puppets. Glue on beads to represent the eyes, nose and mouth. Get stick-on eyes from a craft store, or draw them on. Create animals by painting the spoon all one color, gluing on some paper ears and using pipe cleaners for a tail.

    • 3

Create a wooden spoon wreath for the holidays or for your kitchen by gluing together eight spoons in the shape on an octagon. Weave ribbon around the spoons. Add some fake flowers, beads or glitter to create the theme of your wreath. For a winter wreath, use white spray-on snow or bells to decorate the spoons. For a kitchen wreath, get small dollhouse kitchen furniture, such as miniature coffee mugs or utensils, and tie them to the wreath.

    • 4

Create a centerpiece by gluing the spoons around an old plate. Use the plate stand for flowers, candy or other centerpiece items. You can also use this stand for napkins, salt and pepper or other assorted kitchen accessories.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use acrylic paint when painting your spoons.

  • If you are doing these crafts with children, always supervise them with small pieces.
