Trying to save money around the holidays can be hard to do, but there is one way that you can save money and still send holiday greetings to friends and family. Make Christmas photo greeting cards yourself and send them out in the mail or as email attachments. Making your cards will be easier than you think. If you have a photo that you want to share with everyone, you can turn it into a greeting card for the holidays.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Get free card-maker software if you don't have it already. Photo Card Maker (see References) is free to download and easy to use. Download the software and follow the prompts to install it on your computer. After you have downloaded and installed the software, you are ready to create Christmas photo greeting cards.

  2. Step 2

Open Photo Card Maker. Choose a template from one of the free templates that come with the software. There are more than 50 templates to choose from. Click on the template that you would like to use.

  3. Step 3

Allow the template to load. In the text box, add your message. You can make the wording as long or as short as you want.

  4. Step 4

Place the photo that you choose to use in the photo image box. You can choose from any picture you have on your computer.

  5. Step 5

Click on "Save" to give the card a name and save it to your computer so that you can print it out on the card paper.

  6. Step 6

Place the card paper in your printer according to the directions in your manual. Open the photo card and click "Print." Follow the directions in your printer manual as to how to tell the photo to print. Every printer is different and will need to be told what kind of paper you are printing on.
