You'll learn how to make a cheap and fun alternative to store bought bread that your whole family can help make.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • (1) Greased loaf pan.
  • (2) Heaping Tbl. spn of sugar (Use a measuring spoon).
  • (1) 12 oz. can of beer(The cheaper the better).
  1. Step 1

    My bowl :-)

Take a large mixing bowl and pour all of your ingredients into the bowl. That includes the 12 oz. of beer.

  2. Step 2

Now that you have every thing in the bowl, you'll want to gently stir until everything is completely mixed. Make sure that all the lumps are gone.

  3. Step 3

After mixing go ahead and pour the mixture into the greased(or buttered) loaf pan. Taking a folded dish towel and placing it on a hard surface, gently tap the pan on the towel getting the extra air bubbles out. Be careful to not break the loaf pan if it's glass or ceramic.

Now place the pan in the oven. It should be pre heated to 350 degrees.

  5. Step 5

After leaving it in for 35 minutes take it out for testing. The best way that I've tried is to use a long tooth pick. Take it and pierce the bread in the center. If it's baked all the way through it should come out clean. If not put it back in for 10 minutes then test it again.

  6. Step 6

Once it's done let it cool..... enjoy! Great with jam and butter!

Tips & Warnings
  • For higher altitudes add 1-2 teaspoons of baking powder/soda. Experiment with this as it can make it fluffier.
  • Don't mix it to much or to hard. This will make the bread hard as a brick! I made that mistake. (laughing).
