How to Change Your Face book, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail Passwords

Changing your passwords periodically is a great idea!

  1. Step 1

    Face book: Log-in to your Face book account. Once logged-in to your Face book page, 4 tabs in the upper right corner will be available titled “Your name”, “Settings”, “Logout”, and “Search.” Choose Settings. You will be asked to type your old password, then type your new password twice, and click “Change password.”

  2. Step 2

    G mail: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=6567. The previous link will give you step-by-step instructions for changing your G mail password. Log-in to your G mail account. Now, choose the “Settings” tab which is in the top right corner of the page next to your email address. Once under Settings, choose the tab labeled “Accounts and Import” which is the second from the left. Now choose the “Google Account Settings” link which is the last option. In the middle of the page, under Personal Settings, you will see a link for “change password.” You will be asked to type your old password once, new password twice, and then click save. You have the option of typing in your mother’s maiden name instead of your current password.

    Yahoo Mail: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/account/account-03.html. The previous link will give you step-by-step instructions for changing your Yahoo Mail password. Log-into your Yahoo Mail account. You will see a Yahoo Mail logo in the top, left corner of the page. Directly to the right of this logo, you will see, “Hi, your name.” Click this tab and three options will appear including “Profile”, “Contacts”, and “Account Info.” Choose Account Info. The third section from the top is titled “Sign-in and Security.” Click the first choice under this section which is “Change password.” You will be asked to enter your current password, type your new password twice, and click save.

    Make sure to choose a password with good strength. An example of a password with poor strength is “atlas.” An example of a password with strong strength is “JTY3455johnathon.”
