Step 1
Go to the big bridal stores. Find a dress you love and leave. Go home and get on the Internet and look for the same size/same designer on eBay, Craigslist, or your local paper. Give yourself time to hold out until you find the dress.
-
Step 2
Check the local consignment shops for bargains. Give yourself as much time as possible. Tell the owner/manager of the boutique what you are looking for and leave your name and number. Ask them to call when they get in a dress you may like.
-
Step 3
Put an ad in your local paper. Tell the style you are looking for and your price point. Let the dress come to you.
-
Step 4
Rent a dress. Lightinthebox.com has dresses that start at just $69!
-
Step 5
If you don't mind a nontraditional dress, check out the prom dress sections at your local Department Stores. Dillards has a ton of great dresses.
