Visit a JCPenney store and request a JCPenney credit card application form from the staff.

Complete the JCPenney credit card application form. To comply with federal law, JCPenney has to collect your personal information, including your name, address and date of birth. You may also have to provide your phone number, email address, annual income figure and Social Security number. By signing and submitting the application form, you allow JCPenney to review your information -- for example, by obtaining your credit report.

Give the completed JCPenney credit card application form back to the staff at the JCPenney store or send it by mail to the address listed on the application form.

Go to the JCPenney Online Credit Center website (see Resources).

Click the "Apply Now" tab under the website header. The website will direct you to the main application page, which may show the promotional incentive you get for signing up for the card. Click the "Apply Now" button.

Fill out the online application form by entering the appropriate information in the blank fields. You have to supply the same information as if you were to sign up using the paper application form.

Click the "Accept & Submit" button at the bottom of the application form page to submit your application for JCPenney's consideration.

Tips & Warnings
JCPenney will contact you within seven to 10 business days of receiving your application. If you are approved for the card, you will get your new JCPenney credit card in the mail.
