1. Determine what type of garden trellis you are looking for. Besides the many different garden trellis designs, trellises come in different materials as well. If you are planning on supporting a lot of weight you will probably need a metal garden trellis. Wooden garden trellises will hold a lot of weight as well but tend to weaken over time.

2. Search the internet for "cheap garden arbors". Garden arbors are a little different than garden trellises but for some reason when you search "cheap or discount garden trellises" nothing comes up. There are a few sites that offer garden trellises at discount prices that you will find in the results for "cheap garden arbors". Most garden trellises will require assembly as they aren't shipped put together.

3. Put an ad in your local newspaper as well as on Craiglist. A few people will probably give you their old garden trellis for free if you are willing to come get it out of their yard.

4. Head to your local nursery or home supply store. Home Depot carries cheap plastic garden tressiles for about $20 that are located by the rest of their garden structures. These are made of black plastic and usually in the shape of a garden arch. They can also special order larger trellises at your request.
