eBay Seller negative feedback
eBay Seller negative feedback

Dealing with negative feedback on eBay is not always pleasurable, but it can be handled quite easily. It is possible to have the negative feedback removed or revised by simply communicating with the buyer. First of all, as a seller who received negative feedback, stay professional and do not jump to anger the buyer even more. Perhaps a buyer who left negative feedback hurried to do so because they were simply displeased with an item.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • eBay account
  • negative feedback
  • professionalism
  1. Step 1

Professionally reply to the negative feedback you received. Do not show hostility as this reply will display for all buyers to view.

  2. Step 2

Contact the buyer directly and offer them a reasonable resolution.

  3. Step 3

    Partial refunds satisfy

Offer the unsatisfied buyer a partial refund and allow them to keep the item. This takes the item off of your hands while pleasing the customer.

  4. Step 4

If the buyer does not accept this offer, try giving them a refund for the item (not shipping) and have them send the item back at their own expense. I have yet to make this work with anyone, but it's worth a shot.

  5. Step 5

If all else fails, offer the buyer a full refund if they ship the item back at their own expense.

  6. Step 6

Once a resolution is agreed upon, give the buyer a refund then send them a request to revise feedback. To send a revision request, access the Request Feedback Revision page from the eBay Feedback Forum. Select the item to request feedback revision for and give a brief explanation.

  7. Step 7
    Block bidder from ebay auctions

Block the buyer from bidding on any other ebay auctions. To block a bidder, simply add the bidder ID to your blocked bidders list by browsing to the Blocking a bidder / buyer page (link below in resources).

Tips & Warnings
  • If additional assistance is needed, contact eBay support by clicking on the Help link, then Contact Us (direct link in resources).
  • Do not further anger the buyer by making harsh comments ... wait until the feedback is revised!
