Step 1
**Slimy Feel to the Hard Contact Lens Solution**
Pour a small amount of hard contact lens solution into the palm of your hand. Rub the solution with the tip of your pointer finger of your other hand. If the solution feel slimy coming out of the bottle, it's no longer any good. Throw away the hard contact lens solution bottle and replace with a new one. -
Step 2
**Strange Odor to the Hard Contact Lens Solution**
Open the hard contact lens solution bottle. Remove the cap completely. Smell the hard contact lens solution inside the bottle. If it has a strange odor or bad odor, something has contaminated the hard contact lens solution in the bottle. Replace the bottle with a new one. -
Step 3
**Discoloration of Hard Contact Lens Solution**
Examine the hard contact lens solution in the bottle and in your lens case. The hard contact lens solution should be clear. If you notice a color to the solution that is different than the hard contact lens solution in the bottle, discard and get new batch to use for your contact lens wearing.
