How to Keep Stoppers in Wine Bottle Hummingbird Feeders
Wine bottle hummingbird feeders add sparkling color to your garden, while recycling glass materials that promote a green environment. When using a wine bottle as a container for sweet nectar, the challenge is to secure the liquid in the bottle with a stopper that will still be easy to remove for cleaning and refilling the bottle.

1
Use rubber stoppers with holes pre-drilled for the brass or copper tubing that feeds the hummingbird nectar from the bottle. These stoppers are available at wine and beer making shops, or can be ordered online from retailers that sell wine making supplies.
-
2
Fill the wine bottle with hummingbird nectar.
-
-
3
Press the rubber stopper firmly into the bottle neck.
-
4
Cut a 6-inch length of picture hanging wire and wrap one end in a loop around the bottle neck.
-
5
Bend the wire up and over the end of the rubber stopper, then back down to the bottle neck.
-
6
Twist the free end of the wire around the loop you made around the bottle neck. When you need to clean or refill the bottle, slip the wire loop off to one side of the bottle neck and remove the rubber stopper.

It's really good but coat what you hang it onto the tree with with petroleum jelly like Vaseline to keep the ants off of it.
