Get Accepted as a Demand Studios Writer

Demand Studios is a website that allows individuals to select article titles from thousands of proposed titles, write the article, and be paid for their work. Payment ranges from $7.50 to $15.00 per article and some Demand Studios writers support themselves and their families on their Demand Studios income alone. There is an application process and Demand Studios is very selective about which new writers it chooses to bring on board.

If you want to make money online by writing for Demand Studios, you only get one opportunity to apply--so make it count!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Make a writer's resume.

    Make a writer's resume.

Construct a resume around you past writing experience. This may mean you will need to rework your current resume if writing is a hobby but not directly involved in what you do for a living. Include any awards you have received for writing or any writers groups you may belong to. Also include any work you have had published. Although the primary focus of your resume should be your writing, it can and should include other aspects of your work history and experience as well.

  2. Step 2
A college degree looks good on your application.

A college degree looks good on your application.

Have a college degree or be a proven specialist in a certain field other than writing. This helps Demand Studios to pick writers based on the content that they can cover. Certain article topics are commonly overlooked and ignored by Demand Studios' writers simply because the articles are complicated and not enough individuals currently working there know enough about the subject to adequately write on it.

Degrees in Creative Writing, Literature, Journalism, English, and Communication are also viewed highly when applying to Demand Studios.

  3. Step 3

Choose diverse writing samples to submit with your application. Writing samples in two different formats about two different topics demonstrates that you are competent in a variety of writing styles and can write successfully on numerous topics. This will work in your favor. Your writing samples can be ehow articles, excerpts from a website or blog that you have written, or any other nonfiction article that is NOT creative writing and is at least 400 words.

  4. Step 4

Ask someone else to proofread your samples. It's easy to miss mistakes and just because you ran something through a spelling and grammar checker that does not mean that you can depend on the computer to catch all of your errors. Some of the most common grammar mistakes are allowed in a different context and so will be ignored by a grammar checker. Always get a second opinion before submitting an article to Demand Studios as a writing sample.

  5. Step 5
A response can take up to six weeks.

Wait for a response. Depending on the volume of applications Demand Studios has at any given time, they may respond within hours or your application may take up to six weeks to be approved. The average approval time, however, is about two weeks.
