Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Make a Press Cloth
Simply a piece of fabric that can tolerate high heat, a press cloth is placed between the hot iron and the surface to be ironed. Cut to about 8”x10”or so, any 100% cotton fabric in white or off-white will work for this project. -
Step 2
Make Card Base
Determine the finished card size desired. Cut cardstock to size, allowing for front and back, and fold. For additional flair, you can plan the fold to be off-center! -
Step 3
Prepare Fabric Cutouts
Following the manufacturer’s directions, iron paper-backed fusible web to the backside of your fabrics. Using sharp scissors cut motifs from the fabric or any shapes you desire. -
Step 4
Embellish the envelopes, too!Affix cutouts
Right side up, position the fabric cutouts on the card front. Use a dry iron and follow the manufacturer’s directions to adhere the fabric to the cardstock. Allow to cool. After cooling, test the edge of a cutout for secure adhesion. If the fabric is not firmly glued down, press a little longer. -
Step 5
Outline shapes to look like stitching.Additional Embellishment
Use colored pens to outline shapes or add a greeting.
