Things You'll Need:
- Foundation
- Black liquid eyeliner
- Black pencil eyeliner
- Brow pencil
- Light lip color
- Black mascara
- Bright eyeshadow color
- Dark eyeshadow color
-
Step 1
Prime your face and cover blemishes with foundation, powder or concealer if you only need it on a few spots. You should even put foundation around your eyes to help the shadow stay on longer. The emo look calls for a pale complexion, so choose a foundation that is a couple shades lighter than your natural skin tone.
-
Step 2
Use your black liquid liner to line directly above your upper lash line. You can wing it out for a classic Cleopatra or cat-eye look or create your own design. Keep it minimal for school so you won't have to go in the bathroom and wash it off. To apply your liquid liner, dab a little on a tissue to get rid of the excess and start in the middle of your lash line making outward strokes, then start at the inner corner and move toward the center.
-
Step 3
Use your pencil liner to line against your lower lash line. If you feel comfortable using liquid liner on your lower lashes you can.
-
Step 4
Take your bright shade of eyeshadow and extend it as far out from your eye as you want.
-
Step 5
Use your darker shade of eyeshadow to blend colors together around your eye. It will make the colors blend better from the black eyeliner to the bright eyeshadow color. This step is optional. Swipe on a few coats of black mascara.
-
Step 6
Shape your eyebrows and fill them in with an eyebrow pencil if you need to. Dark eye makeup is further enhanced by strong, well-shaped brows.
-
Step 7
Apply a light nude color of lip gloss or lipstick to your lips. The emo look focuses mostly on the eyes.
