Since the utilities are extremely vital to the security of your computer, using the Norton utilities CD, you can recover and repair missing utilities.

      Try to properly shut down and restart your computer. To do so, close any currently running programs and click the Windows "Start" button. Click "Turn off" and click "Restart." Move to the next step if the restart does not resolve problems with missing Norton Utilities.

      Run the UnErase wizard on the Norton Utilities CD. To do so, insert the Norton Utilities CD in the CD-ROM drive on your computer. Norton Utilities automatically runs and opens a display menu. If it does not automatically run, click the Windows "Start" button and click "My Computer."

      Right-click the CD-ROM drive with the Norton Utilities CD and click "Run" to open the display menu.

      Select "Run utilities from CD" on the menu. A new menu displays. Select Norton Unerase. A new screen displays.

      Type the name of the deleted file in the empty box and click "Next" to recover the missing Norton utility. If you do not know the name of the deleted file, click "Next" and follow the guided prompts to recover missing Norton utilities.
