Adding applications to your Apple computer dashboard takes just a few moments.

Apple computers come with a feature called the dashboard that allows you to download and install mini-applications--called widgets--for easy access and convenience. The dashboard comes pre-installed with several applications, but adding new ones is a relatively simple process that takes just a few moments.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your dashboard by clicking on its icon in your computer dock, or by pressing F12.

    • 2

Click the "+" key at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. This will bring up a list of available applications that are already installed on your computer.

    • 3

Scroll to the application you would like to add and click on it. This sends the application to your dashboard.

    • 4

Click "More Widgets" to go to Apple's official website where you can download additional applications.

    • 5

Download additional applications by selecting them and clicking "Download Now." The application will be automatically installed on your dashboard.

Tips & Warnings

  • To remove an application from your dashboard, follow the same steps as above. When the list of available applications is displayed, uncheck the box to the left of the application to remove it. You can rearrange the applications on your dashboard by clicking on them and dragging them to a new location.

  • Exercise caution when downloading new applications from Apple's website, as most of them are created by third-parties and not verified by Apple. Some applications allow you to download and install them for a free trial period, but will become inactive if you do not pay for them within a certain number of days.
