Wear a poodle skirt with white socks and sneakers and you will look like you belong back in the '50s.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Pull your hair back into a ponytail with a coated rubber band. Tie a solid-color scarf in a knot on top of the rubber band. If your hair is short, just brush it away from your face and tie the scarf around your neck.

  2. Step 2

Put on pink lipstick. Keep the eye makeup light.

  3. Step 3

Put on a short-sleeved, solid-color blouse with a Peter Pan collar.

  4. Step 4

Tuck the blouse into a wide, solid-color skirt with a poodle applique near the bottom on the left side. The skirt looks best if it comes to about 5 inches below your knees.

  5. Step 5

Wear white sneakers with white ankle socks.

Tips & Warnings
  • While you are getting dressed, put on some early Elvis music to get you in a dancing mood.
  • Purchase the poodle applique at a crafts store, if necessary.

on 2/25/2006 If you have a locket, find a picture or two off the Internet of Elvis, put them in the locket and wear it around your neck.

on 11/22/2005 I would suggest wearing pink lipstick, and make your eyes the focus. You put a thick line of black kohl eyeliner on your top lid only and make sure it has the little cat eye thing at the end. [Think Marilyn Monroe]. False eyelashes are great too. For the bottom part of your eye I would use eyeliner and then smudge it to make it smokey. =)

on 11/22/2005 The double sock was popular in the 50's. Pink and white is a nice combination, or whatever colors that would match your outfit. The "Bob" was also trendy, as well as button-down cardigans.

on 11/22/2005 If you can get a hold of saddle shoes, they really can help make the outfit work.

on 11/22/2005 Wear your husband's old letter jacket and put his class ring on a necklace to wear around your neck. Also, carry a hula hoop with you.
