Step 1
When you use an old cookie sheet and it has baked on grease you can clean it. Take the cookie sheet and soak it overnight in the sink with a paste of baking soda and water. You can add a little dishwasher detergent if you like. In the morning you should be able to scrub off the grime without to much trouble. Using a spray on commercial cleaner can be nasty smelling if you are not careful when using them. Make sure you do not breath them in they could damage your lungs. If you use a commercial cleaner be careful not to get the spray on any wires or overspray in any vents. Do not spray them on chrome, plastic or on the floor.

Step 2
To make your own natural oven cleaner you will need a mixing bowl, and a spray bottle. Mix 1/4 cup salt, and 3/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup water and mix them together. Take the spray bottle and mix in a mixture of water , and diluted liquid soap. Spray this on the walls and inside of the oven. You can now smear on the baking soda mix with a sponge. Let this soak overnight and in the morning you can clean away the old grease from the oven. Use a putty knife, and those green backed sponges to remove the mixture.

Step 3
You can also use a pumice stone on hard to remove grease spots. Once you have cleaned away the grime use paper towels to clean up the rest. Now you can use some scented vinegar to remove any left over baking soda. You should also wear rubber gloves to protect your skin from the old grease that you are removing. This takes some elbow grease but it much better on you and the environment then the harsh chemicals sprays.

Step 4
Once you get your oven clean try using an aluminum oven liner. You can get a liner from the grocery store. Another thing you can use is a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil. Put the lined cooke sheet in the bottom of your oven to catch all the grease that drips from baking and broiling. If you use a pure aluminum liner its is recyclable.
