Things You'll Need:
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- About 3-4 cups water
- 1 Can Tomato Sauce
- 1-2 Green Chiles, canned or fresh, diced
- 1/2 Yellow Onion, diced
- 1 small Tomato, diced
- 1 Tbsp Garlic Salt
- Flour (Just enough to absorb the oils from the meat)
-
Step 1
The first step to take is begin cooking the ground beef in a large pot. Once the beef starts to brown, you can add whatever seasonings you find fitting. I usually just use garlic salt for the meat. Once you see the oils from the meat forming, you can slowly add the flour to the meat until all of the oils are absorbed. This will thicken the chili.
-
Step 2
Once the meat is well done and all of the oils are absorbed, you can add all of the ingredients to the pot. I suggest adding the water and tomato sauce first, let it simmer for a few minutes, than add everything else.
-
Step 3
Once all of the ingredients are in the pot, bring to a boil, than let simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Once you can smell the amazing aroma of Homemade Green Chili, you can eat! This chili is great for smothered burritos, stuffed sopapillas, or just for a hot bowl of chili with a tortilla on the side! Hope you enjoy it!

on 10/7/2009 A nice way to add even MORE flavor to your delicious green chili is to take a blow torch to the chiles before adding them. It's faster and easier than trying to char them on a grill. Just place them on the grill grate and in 3 mins with the blow torch, you'll have them charred and ready to go!
