Televise Your Life

Ever dream about hosting your own live TV show? Ustream.com makes it possible with their live video streaming technology. Not only that, Ustream puts a TV broadcasting station in your pocket! With the right phone and the right apps, you can broadcast live or record and upload directly from your video-enabled mobile phone.

Broadcast live with your cell phone on Ustream whenever you're on a WiFi or a 3G cellular network. Live broadcasting works with Android and some Nokia cell phones, or you can record and upload with the iPhone 3GS. Here is how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Android, Nokia or iPhone 3GS Cell Phone
  • Ustream account
  1. Step 1

Download the Ustream Broadcaster or the Recorder application for your phone. Some Nokia phones and the Android phone are compatible with the Broadcaster application. iPhones must use the Recorder application (see Resources below for links).

  2. Step 2

Launch the Broadcaster application on your Android or Nokia phone.

  3. Step 3

Log in to Ustream through the application.

  4. Step 4

Select the “Broadcast” option and off you go! Check the settings if you want to archive the broadcast on the Ustream website.

  5. Step 5

Share your Ustream live broadcast with your Twitter followers by hitting the “Tweet” button.

  6. Step 6

If you have an iPhone, use the Recorder application to record a video and upload it to Ustream. It’s not quite live, but it’s still a TV Station in your pocket.

  7. Step 7

Download the Viewer application to view live streams on your phone over WiFi or your 3G cellular network.

on 10/7/2009 My Nokia is not supported, one more reason update to Android once Verizon has them. Thanks, this process is much simpler than I thought it would be. - Ralph <><
