Beach combing is a fun way to spend sometime with the family and if your lucky you find some treasures along the way. One year we found a bunch of whole sand dollars and brought them home, but then had nothing to do with them. Being an avid Angel collector I quickly noticed the pattern on a sand dollar could be an Angel and I set to work.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sand Dollar
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint brush
  • String (optional)

Start with a clean sand dollar. Notice there are two small etchings, two larger etchings and one long etching. Point the sand dollar so that the longest point is facing down.

  2. Step 2

With a small paint brush paint the long point and circle in the middle white. This is your Angels body.

  3. Step 3

The four remaining points are your wings, paint them whatever color you want, I prefer gold or silver.

  4. Step 4

Now comes the harder part, you have to free hand the head in the space between the two smallest wings. I did a circle of flesh colored paint then some light daubs of brown for hair, black circles for eyes and mouth and a yellow line on top for the Hallo.

  5. Step 5

This next step is optional. If you want to hang your creation, you can put string through the back two holes. I used fishing line because the top hole is small and fishing line is sturdy but thin.

Tips & Warnings
  • For the hair I dab my paint brush into the color I want then smudge it on a paper towel to get the brush almost dry again then daub it onto the head of the angel
