The Native Americans called aloe "The Wand of Heaven."

Squeeze about 6 oz. of 100 percent pure aloe vera gel into a small bowl.

    • 2

Add 1 tsp. sweet almond oil or mineral oil to the aloe vera gel.

    • 3

Add a drop or two of scented oil if you want a scented cream. This is optional--the cream will not be offensive without an added scent.

    • 4

Mix the aloe vera and oil well. The combination of ingredients should turn a creamy white color (or another color depending on scent you used).

    • 5

Cleanse your face and pat dry.

    • 6

Gently dab a bit of cream on your forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, and neck. Gently massage it into your skin in an upwards motion.

    • 7

Store your extra cream in a small jar with a lid for freshness.

If You Choose To Use The Aloe Plant vs. Store Bought Aloe

Fresh aloe vera from the plant sours quickly, so make less.

Remove an aloe leaf from the plant using a sharp knife.

    • 9

Trim off the thorny edges and then slice the leaf across its width.

    • 10

Use a small spoon to transfer the aloe vera gel from the leaf to your mixing bowl.

    • 11

Go back to Step 2 above.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pure aloe vera can be purchased at any health food store. Invest in some small jars with lids where you can keep your homemade cream.

  • Fresh aloe vera from the plant is wonderful, but the aloe tends to sour quickly, so you might want to make less.
