How to Create a '40s Costume for Women

Picture a dancer with a basket of tropical fruit on her head, wearing a slinky sarong-style dress. Her name was Carmen Miranda, and her costume is fun to create and wear. Does this Spark an idea?

      Put on bright red lipstick.

      Pin up your hair and put a turban over it.

      Put on a silky print sarong-style dress.

      Slide your feet into wedge sandals.

      Carefully secure a small basket filled with artificial tropical fruit onto your head. Tie it or pin it so it is secure.
