How to Build a Dell Laptop
The Dell brand of personal computers is one of the leading manufacturers of home based computing systems. One benefit that Dell provides is the ability to build and create your own personal Dell Laptop, made especially to your designs and needs. When creating and building your own Dell laptop, you will need to log onto the Dell Web page. At the site, you will be given more options than any brick and mortar sales facility.

Go to the Dell website (www.dell.com) and click on the "For Home" tab in the upper left corner of the screen. A pull-down menu now appears, from which you should click "Laptops & Minis." This will bring up the laptop page of the Dell site.

Click on the kind of laptop you would like, such as "Mini," "Studio" or "Gaming" (the Alienware computer). A new page will now load. Several different laptops of the particular model will be displayed, most of which vary in size. Click the laptop you would like, followed by clicking "Personalize."

Select the color you would like your Dell laptop to be and click "Continue Customizing."

Click on the Processor speed you would like, followed by any additional Microsoft Office Software you will need.

Add an extended warranty if you think you need it, as well as extended security software (you will already be provided with 15 months of free McAfee SecurityCenter software).

Select the kind of display your computer should have, as well as the amount of memory you would like. Add any additional DVD burning drives you would like, as well as more powerful batteries. If you want Bluetooth enabled devices to connect to your computer, click the features you would like to add. If you would like any additional products (such as printers or audio speakers), select them now. If not, click "Add to Shopping Cart" and complete the purchasing process.
