This article will tell you how to check your tire pressure or PSI.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know the PSI or tire pressure that is standard for your tire:

If you are an American you likely have a car, it is the way of life these days. It is essential to check tire pressure for improved gas efficiency and to avoid tipping your car at high speeds which is possible in an SUV. You must first check what the standard tire pressure is for your tires. If you read your tires it should say what PSI to fill your tires up to.

  2. Step 2

Look at your tires before you go to work in the morning:

Take a visual assessment of your wheels. If one tire seems low you will want to go to a gas station and use the air meter to check the PSI. If the PSI is below the standard pressure you will want to fill it up with more air.

  3. Step 3

Make sure to warm the air pressure nozzle if it is cold out:

Sometimes the nozzle on the air meter will freeze in the Winter. If this happens you can slide it into your car with the heat on and let it defrost first.
