How to Get Your Bathtub Cleaner
Bathtub cleaning can be a challenge. The infamous bathtub ring clings to the sides of the tub and grimy footprints stubbornly stick to the bottom, while mildew flourishes in every crevice. It is enough to make you long to start from scratch with a new tub, but don't throw in the towel just yet -- there are some strategies you can employ to get your bathtub cleaner. Things You'll Need
- Saw
- Sponge mop
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Cream of tartar
- Automotive detergent
- Lemon juice
- Borax

Saw off the handle of an extra sponge mop. Use this for cleaning your bathtub and save your back from some of the contortions required in bathtub cleaning.

Fill the bathtub with hot water. While water is running, add 1 to 2 cups of bleach to the water. Use the cut-off mop to scrub with this solution.

Make a paste by mixing together hydrogen peroxide and cream of tartar. Cover your bathtub ring with this paste. Wait until it dries and then wipe off both the powder and the bathtub ring.

Apply automotive detergent, designed to clean road dirt, to really stubborn bathtub stains. Test in an inconspicuous place to be sure the cleaner you choose does not damage the finish on your tub. Be sure to rinse very well before using the bathtub.

Rub rust stains on your bathtub with a paste made of lemon juice and borax powder.
