Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Saving money on your electric bill is easy when you know what to look for. The tips I am about to give you come from my experience as a landlord.

  2. Step 2

    1. Replace all regular light bulbs with incandescent bulbs which are more expensive but last 15-20 years and take much less electricity than the older bulbs.
    2. Wrap your electric hot water heater with an insulation blanket which will use less electric.
    3. Unplug all non essential items whenever not in use, some items like computers use electric even when turned off.
    4. Use motion sensors for outside lighting than the outside lights will only turn on when activated by motion.
    5. Replace any appliance more than 5 years old with newer models which are much more energy efficient.

  3. Step 3

These tips will save you much money. You will see a noticeable difference in your next electric bill. I experimented with rental apartments I owned and these will give you the biggest pay off.
