How to Use Scotch Packing Tape Dispenser

Scotch packing tape dispensers can be purchased at most retail stores and are convenient to use for a variety of projects. The dispensers are reusable when empty rolls are replaced with Scotch tape refills. These dispensers are good for home, office and commercial use. Packing tape dispensers are often used when building cardboard boxes for moving or storage purposes.

Things You'll Need

• Scotch packing tape dispenser
• Packing tape
• Object to be taped

Instructions

1. Place the Scotch packing tape roll onto the dispenser. Locate the end tab of the Scotch packing tape roll. Dispose of the tape's end tab prior to using.

2. Pull out the tape so that the sticky end rests against the end of the dispenser with the cutting blade.

3. Place the sticky end of Scotch tape down on the object that is being taped.

4. Pull the dispenser across the object to unroll the desired amount of tape; the amount will depend on the size of the object being taped.

5. Cut the tape using the tape dispenser's serrated blade; angle the dispenser to get a smooth cut.

6. Rub your hand over the tape to secure it over the object.
